Default How to work on Lucky?

Okay, so doin pretty good on unlucky. Almost unfavored, in fact (not bad for someone who only uses a lockpick if I have one and come across a chest)

I have 76% possibility of retaining in ascalon. Aka I'm the 2nd tier, almost 3rd on lucky. How do I start to even it back up again? Like.. What are good places to run with a few lockpicks I find in HM/Buy? Any good maps you've found in ascalon/nooby areas in other places I can run around with and use to work on it? Or a better method maybe?

theres a small like chestrun outside shing jea monestary...I've never really done it (except now for a map) that I'm told is around a 50-60% chance of spawning a chest. They're 80g key's sooo your lockpick should only lose 1% retention over ascalon chests. And with my rather crappy build I'm /age-ing at 1 minute and with 2 casts of drunken master getting me there I think it was about one minute exactly.

There's almost always a chest in Fronis Irontoe's lair, if you can run to it.

That'd useful if he didn't want to maximize lucky points -.-

Just a note guys.. anet specifically states that low-end chests DO NOT count towards the title.. they must be high-end - ie. if the key you bought is over 600g, it counts. if its not, it doesnt.

from the wiki:
"Opening the chest gives the opener an item which is guaranteed to be at least uncommon but can also be rare. Whether a chest returns uncommon or rare is determined at each opening of the chest. The quality of the item dropped depends on area where the chest spawns which is reflected in the value of the key used to open the chest. For instance, a key worth 80Gold will never return a rare or maximum damage item, but a key worth 600Gold or over to purchase from the merchant has a good chance of returning a maximum damage rare weapon. Opening a chest with according keys worth 600Gold+ or any Locked Chest will contribute to the Treasure Hunter title track. "

and here the link to all the info about lucky points:

Lockpicks affect the titles in this manner:
Quote:
Successfully retaining a lockpick earns 250 points towards the Lucky title while breaking one adds 2.5 points for every 1% retention rate towards the Unlucky title.
If you want to advance your Lucky title you open lower end chests where you will be more likely to retain the lockpick. You get a flat 250 points for each retention. It's the Unlucky that advances more quickly with high-end chests as it is based on the retention rates shown on this wiki page. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Lockpick

Dont froget, if you should get a partywipe during chestrunning in NM Ascalon or Shing Jea ... you can always use a clover for the chance of 4 Lucky points and no risk of Unlucky points.

One of the most popular methods is to play the 9-rings during Shing Jea festivals (Canthan NY, Dragon Festival).

You stock up on Tickets and park your character on a ring and leave it there. You will get Lucky and Unlucky points, bonus is you can do it while you're asleep or away from the computer.

Unfortunately 9 rings isnt available atm. But if you can wait, then 9 rings is good.
Another option is nm locked chests outside Boreal Station. Bring some heroes with Charge, Incoming etc, its 2mins runs with 1-3 chests.
I made some calculations back when I did it. With modest lucky rank it will maybe cost 400g per chest if you just ID and merch all the drops. You can cut the losses to 200 or so if you spend time salvaging for dust, iron, granite and salvaging off mods to sell them. You will get many mods that can be sold for like 1-2k ea if you have the time to stand shouting WTS in kamadan.
It can be well combined with drunkard title using Drunken Master. Just turn off the blurry effect so you can see where you go
